For the vast majority of women pregnancy, labor, birth, and breast feeding are all normal healthy events in their lives.  Prenatal care at a Baby’s First Day focuses on enhancing the health of the mother and therefore the health of the baby.  Much time is spent discussing nutrition, exercise, and emotional well being.  Pregnancy should be a time of joy, health, and vitality.  Healthy pregnancy and birth need our respect, patience, and understanding and not our intervention.

April’s education and experience truly set her apart. April brings a decade of experience and has assisted over 2,000 mothers bring their baby’s into the world. April holds both a bachelors and masters degree in nursing. She worked as a labor and delivery nurse at Sunrise Hospital for five years. Upon completing her masters degree, April began working as a certified nurse-midwife at St. Rose Hospital. April introduced many natural birthing options to the hospital including water birth, birth stools, and intermittent monitoring. Upon opening her home birth practice April became certified through the North American Registry of Midwives as a Certified Professional Midwife. While the overwhelming majority of births are completely normal and require no intervention, April’s extensive experience in medicine gives her confidence in any situation.   

April has an extensive background in maternity care and offers compassionate, individualized attention to your pregnancy.  Whether you are planning a water birth, vaginal birth after cesarean section (VBAC), or the birth of your first baby April can help you achieve a safe, happy, healthy, birth day for your new baby.
