Spinning Babies is an approach to optimize the physical relationship between the bodies of the mother and baby for the easing of childbirth. Spinning Babies is a new paradigm that takes clues from baby's position and station for natural, physiological solutions.
Try the techniques in any birth setting, childbirth program, or pain management plan.
(c) Align the uterus so baby can curl and enter the pelvis as a small, compact - and more active participant.
(c) Release tight ligaments or muscles which may pull or twist may relieve pelvic pain now or discomfort during birth.
(c) Support what's loose in womb or pelvis with a pregnancy belt.
(c) Learn ways to open the pelvis to let baby move down during the birth process.
It begins with activities to support the range of motion and alignment, to reach a healthy mix of mobility and stability for the pelvis. Comfort and function return to the body.
I am really excited to be teaching the parent class-it differs from the "Spinning Babies Workshop" that is for professionals, and I am hoping Spinning Babies becomes common practice especially in the hospital to reduce unnecessary cesareans, but it is helpful in all birth settings..
In fact, I really think this approach could be the answer that ACOG was referring to when they said, "... Safe reduction of the rate of primary cesarean deliveries will require different approaches ..."
This is information that's time has come.
*This class is for pregnant mothers and their partner and the content is catered to expectant mothers/partners. It is important that mom bring a partner with her to this class.
